Dicta Boelcke
The German World War I ace Hauptmann Oswald Boelcke was the first flyer to write down
his experiences and rules for air combat victory. These still apply to air war (and SE)
to this day. There are quite a few very good sites on the web which explain better than I
can these rules for air fleet success. Check out the best one I found
here, or another one
here, or do your own search on Google.
I'm pretty sure if you take the time to think about the rules in his Dicta and how they apply
to SE, you'll become a better player.
American Caesar
William Manchester used this as the title of his award winning biography of General Douglas
MacArthur. Don't worry about reading the whole 960 pages, you only have to be concerned
with, and learn from, the parallels between MacArthur's Pacific island hopping strategy and
yours when attacking an opponent's empire in SE. I found it eerie in how directly it applies to
SE success.
Check it out for yourself and be a better player soon! (I couldn't find a good website that
explains it completely so you'll have to dig for yourself.)
